He arrived in Emergency One to find Doctor Halsey standing beside a closed curtain around where Logan's surgery was being done. She looked up and smiled at him.

"Hello, Jason. I'm sorry, you can't go in, it's a sterile environment. He's already opened up."

"Who is that Dr." Jason asked the doctor, "And when will i be able to speak with him?"

"It's Logan. I know you remember him. I don't know how long it will take. His injuries are serious, we've got rather a lot of bones and organs to replace and let take hold."

Logan, Jason thought in shock. He hadnt ever been this badly damaged as far as Jason could remember.
"Okay, well thank you for telling me this..." Jason said turning away from the docter and starting to walk out of the medical wing.

"That's okay. If only Krystal were here for him... He misses her so..."

Doctor Halsey doesn't seem to be talking to Jason anymore. She looks thoughtful. Thoughtful and sad.

Austin entered the medical wing, having gotten a steak meal from the mess, and nearly bumped into Jason.

"Oh, sorry Jason."

He glanced at Halsey in the back of the room, by a curtain.

"How is he?"

Doctor Halsey gave a sad chuckle.

"He woke up through his anesthesia before we opened him up. I had to give him the heavy stuff."

Austin gave a weak smile.

"Sounds like him. I guess we should go?"

Jaosn nodded to Austin as he walked past him, and he turned around and followed Austin back into the medical wing wanting to know how Logan had become this badly wounded.

Austin looked at the curtain one last time, before giving Jason a "follow me" gesture and walking out into the waiting lobby.

Jason followed Austin out of the waiting lobby, ready to ask him a few questions about his last mission, and any new ones coming up.

Austin popped the seal on his helmet, and sat it on a nearby chair. He started eating his meal, quietly chewing his steak as he waited for Jason to speak.

"I was wondering how Logan has become so injured...what was your last mission?" Jason asked Austin who had sat down and was eating, "Also are there any upcoming missions?"

Swallowing the steak in his mouth, Austin answered Jason.

"Our mission was to prevent a Covenant assassination attempt on several high ranking government officials. Near the end, we engaged the loyalists in the senate building. Logan, me, and a hunter were injured by a chieftan."

He looked down at the floor.

"Logan took a direct hit from his hammer."

Sighing, Austin looked back up at Jason.

"I don't know about any future missions, sorry."

"Thats okay... you have already told me enough." Jason replied, "So... we are paired with aliens?"

Austin nodded.

"Yep. We've been on two missions and even in a space battle with them, so I think they're trustworthy."

"Ok... i just wanted to make sure that they were on our side, i wouldnt want to waste bullets on them..." Jason replied, sitting down on a chair and taking off his helmet, "So how have you been since your training ended?"
Jason was of course reffering to the time that all spartans go through, to get their augmentations and training to become a spartan.

Austin shrugged, gulping down some water.

"Fine, I guess."

Logara and Kopaka left the shop with their repairs finished. On the way out, the huragok had stopped them so he could weld shut the crack Logan put in Kopaka's chest. Now they walked aimlessly through the station, wondering how humans function with so little space to move around.

They came upon the mess hall and spotted the two Spartans.
Maybe they know how Logan is doing.
So, you suddenly care about him?
Of course not, but it will be interesting to know what has become of him.
They approached the humans and stood on either side of Austin. "What has become of Logan?" Logara asked.

Jason saw the hunters from across the mess hall and when they came to Austin and his table, they asked what had become of Logan.
"He has been in surgery as far as i know...by the way my name is Jason." Jason told the two hunters standing up to shake one's hand, "Im the new edition to your squad."

yusnak woke from his sleep due to a sudden pang from his stomach, he was so tired he hadnt realised how hungery he was. he came down from the ceiling and made his was to the mess hall and grabed some food.
he sat at a table with some other yanme'e he knew and began to eat

"I wouldn't bother. In case you hadn't relised their hands are kinda tied." Jak said joining the two Spartans. He had enjoyed his meal and was in a good mood for a change, something that worried him deeply. Ah it's just a phase. Give it time and it will pass.

A long time passed as the various members of the group ate and talked. After several hours, Doctor Halsey approached Austin.

"He's closed up and awake. He'll be in recovery for a long time, but he's stable. If anybody wants, they can go talk to him."

Austin nodded at Halsey.

"I'd like to see him, ma'am."

"Alright, go on in."

Austin nodded, before entering the room. He approached the bed that Logan was on.

"Hey, how're you doing?"

A weak smile crossed Logan's face, and his voice was barely audible.

"Great. Cancha tell?"

Austin returned the smile, and of the same intensity.

"You look strong enough to wrastle a bull. So try to get better soon."
